The WGEPPP Meeting 2026 will take place on 15-16 September 2026 in Rabat, Morocco, bringing together members and observers of the Working Group to explore a central and increasingly relevant topic for SAIs: Assessing the Relevance of Public Policies.
Public policies are frequently judged on how effectively and efficiently they are implemented, but less attention is often given to whether the underlying policy objectives remain appropriate in the face of evolving societal needs. During the two-day meeting in Rabat, participants will examine how SAIs can assess the continuing relevance of policies, programmes and strategies while operating within their respective institutional and legal frameworks.
The meeting will provide a platform to discuss current practices, institutional conditions and methodological approaches for relevance assessment. It will also explore ways to identify relevant audit topics, address complex relationships between policy objectives and societal needs, and formulate findings and recommendations that enhance the impact and usefulness of SAI work.
More information on the agenda, speakers and registration will be shared in due course. We look forward to welcoming you to Rabat in September 2026!
